Ships Crane & Digger Operators (Skilled Stevedores)
We are looking to increase our pool of experienced permanent Stevedores based at Mount Maunganui to operate equipment including Ships Crane and On Vessel Diggers.
In particular, we are looking for people with log grappling and log fleeting experience to help with the loading of log vessels by operating either the Ships Crane or an On Vessel Digger to distribute logs within the holds of the vessel. Forestry experience is preferable however is not essential.
Ships Crane operators will also work with a variety of cargo including steel, palm kernel, sawn timber and containers. These positions offer a guaranteed minimum number of hours and there will be a requirement to work out of port on occasion.
To be successful you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Previous experience essential
- A minimum full Class 1 licence
- Wheels & Tracks endorsements for digger operation
- Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
- Can work flexible hours including nights, weekends and public holidays
- A strong commitment to Health and Safety
- Be a strong team player
- Have a positive attitude and strong work ethic
