Port Work Opportunities

C3 Limited is a market leader in New Zealand’s port related product and cargo handling, adding value to our clients businesses by providing solutions to their logistics and transport needs. C3 employ over 1200 staff in 13 locations across New Zealand.

Our Auckland branch currently has opportunities available for entry level roles on the port.

Entry level roles working as General Duties Wharf Hands give you a chance to get a “foot in the door” towards a career on the port. Full training is provided, so no experience is necessary, however we do require people who are keen and motivated to learn. You need to be physically fit as some of the duties involve handling equipment that can weigh up to 25kgs. You could be working on the wharf or working on board vessels – no two days are the same!

This opportunity could be a step into a new career at the port, which is an essential service for NZ trade.  As vessels can arrive at any time of the day or night flexibility to work a variety of shifts over a 24/7 week is a requirement. Working outside in all weathers is also part of both roles, so you need to be comfortable in an outdoor environment.

Career progression into supervisory and skilled roles such as Foreman and Crane Driver are some of the opportunities available to transition from a job into a career. If you are looking for a new career or tired of the warehouse/factory style environment this could be the start of something big for you.

To be considered for this opportunity with C3 you will need to:

• Have flexibility to work hours over a 24/7 working week

• Be a strong team player

• Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements

• Pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol test

• Be able to work at heights

• Have a positive attitude

• Be committed to a safe work environment

• Be fully COVID-19 vaccinated

• Be legally entitled to work in NZ with a valid work visa, residency or citizen status

C3 offer competitive hourly rates and career progression opportunities. Successful applicants will be required to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and D&A test.

Applications close 31 August 2022.
