Port Career Opportunities

Do you like working outdoors in a team, doing something physical, where there is a sniff of the ocean on the breeze and you aren’t working the usual 9-5 office hours tied to a desk?  If you’re thinking “yes” then keep reading this could be the job for you…….

C3 Limited is looking to increase our pool of casual Wharfhands due to increasing business levels. Wharfhands assist with the loading and unloading of vessels carrying a variety of cargo.  Initially you would start off doing manual labour type duties such as lashing containers on vessels and as you gain experience you could end up progressing to operate cranes, forklifts or other heavy machinery.

Although not guaranteed on average there is between 20-30 hours of work available per week depending on your flexibility and availability. We are looking for fit, motivated and reliable people who are strong team players and communicate well. No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided as long as you are keen to learn.

This is not your average day job, you could work nights, weekends and also potentially be asked to work at other ports around NZ to assist our other branches. In return we offer you;

  • competitive rates of pay
  • a great team environment
  • training and an opportunity to develop your career

If you meet the criteria below then why don’t you give it a shot?

  • Have flexibility to work hours over a 24/7 working week
  • Act in accordance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements
  • Pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol test and random screening
  • Be able to work at heights
  • Have a positive attitude
  • Be committed to a safe work environment

If you want to join us and be involved in this exciting opportunity to be part of our growing team then we want to hear from you.
