C3 Wellington are experiencing a growth and development phase in our log marshalling area and we require more Plant Operators to help us keep up with growing volumes of logs coming through Centreport.
Applicants with previous forestry experience operating heavy machinery with log grapples are our first preference but we are also keen to develop candidates with heavy machinery operation experience who want to build a career and learn, are motivated and have the right attitude.
Our preference is for operators who already hold a Class 2 licence with F endorsement, however we will also support developing our own and will consider assisting those on a Class 2 learners licence or a full Class 1 licence who meet all of the criteria to obtain a Class 2 licence within the minimum time frame.
Plant Operators drive heavy machinery on the wharf for the loading and unloading of logs from trucks and rail as they arrive at the port. The Operators ensure that the logs are safely moved and stacked neatly and accurately in rows, so that they can be brought to the ship’s side when they are required to be loaded onto log vessels.
C3 operate a variety of heavy machinery including High Stackers and Pivot Steers with log grapples. As the role involves operating large machinery in a confined space on the wharf accuracy, attention to detail and a strong focus on Health & Safety are a priority.
This position requires flexibility regarding working hours as there are a range of shifts across a 24/7 work environment influenced by shipping schedules. Casual and permanent positions are available.
You will be reliable, flexible and hard working with the ability to work to deadlines and perform well in a team environment. The Health & Safety of you and your team will be a primary focus.
As part of the selection process you will need to pass a pre-employment medical assessment and drug & alcohol screen and potentially demonstrate your abilities in a practical pre-employment assessment.
