Operations Supervisor

Due to an internal restructure our Wellington branch is seeking a motivated and energetic Supervisor to help oversee the day-to-day operations of our Log Marshalling facility and Stevedoring operations at Centreport. The branch receives and measures logs arriving via truck and train daily through our customer service facility, while Stevedoring operations assist with the loading of logs when log vessels are in port and other cargo including offloading car vessels. 

Reporting to the Operations Manager this salaried role works to ensure adequate staffing levels are covered in all areas, on all shifts and that team members are trained and following standard operating procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

The successful candidate for this position will be looking to take the next step in their career, taking on further responsibility, to supervise and motivate staff to ensure the business consistently delivers an efficient and quality service to customers. You will be someone who enjoys developing and getting the best out of others by fostering a good team culture and morale while enjoying a hands-on leadership role. The role will cover some weekends and be part of an on-call roster.

- Sound computer skills and the aptitude to learn new inhouse systems

- Knowledge of log marshalling and/or port operations would be desirable but is not essential

The successful candidate will be required to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol testing as well as criminal records check.
