On Vessel Digger Operators

Based in Tauranga we require skilled on vessel digger operators to join our team. This role primarily involves operating diggers on board log vessels to optimize the placement of logs in the hold. Previous on vessel experience is preferred however a candidate from a forestry background with log grappling and log fleeting experience would be considered if they demonstrated the right skill set.

• An hourly rate package starting from $35.00 an hour is available with potential to multi-skill and earn higher rates on other machinery and equipment
• Guaranteed minimum hours equivalent to 40 hours per week
• Predominantly twelve-hour shifts - night and day shifts 0330am - 1530pm / 1530pm to 0330am

Essential requirements for the position are:

• Experience in operating diggers on board a vessel or in forestry environment 
• Available to work in a 24/7 environment
• A minimum full Class 1 licence with T endorsement
• Experience in log handling using a log grapple
• NZQA 6929 - Operate a knuckle boom loader in a yard/forestry situation
• NZQA 6931 - Fleet/Sort/Stack logs
• NZQA 6932 - Load a logging truck and or trailer
• NZQA 6935 - Operate an excavator type track machine in a forestry situation
• A national certificate in Forestry Log Loading
