Heavy Diesel Mechanic

Employing over 1200 staff in 11 locations across New Zealand, C3 Limited is a market leader in New Zealand’s port related product and cargo handling, adding value to our clients' businesses by providing solutions to their transport and logistics needs.

Our Mount workshop is one of nine around the country that maintains and repairs heavy machinery used by C3 in the port environment. We are looking for a motivated and qualified Diesel Mechanic in heavy plant and equipment, with strong attention to detail, to become part of our experienced team.  You will bring a high level of technical skill and enjoy varied repair and mechanical work on a variety of industry leading equipment such as Wagner, Volvo, CAT, Liebherr, Hyster, Kalmar, Omega, Linde and Cummings.

Essential requirements for the position are:

 Mechanic trade certificate (PolyTech or MITO)

 Proven experience repairing and maintaining heavy machinery

 Being a self-starter with initiative

 Keen eye for detail with superior workmanship

 Commitment to Health & Safety of you and your team

 Flexibility and reliability

 Computer literacy

 Good communication skills

 Strong time management skills and ability to work unsupervised is essential.

 Available to participate in an on-call roster, and work nights or weekends depending on work schedule.

Additional qualifications that would be advantageous:

 Previous experience working on forklifts, wheel loaders, excavators and heavy log handling equipment. 

 Experience in CAT ET. SIS and Insite.

 Good ability with MIG and ARC welding for maintenance type repairs
