Health, Safety & Environment Business Partner
C3 Limited is a market leader in New Zealand’s port related product handling, adding value to its clients business by providing solutions to their logistics needs. C3 Limited employ over 1400 staff in 15 ports across New Zealand and in Australia.
Due to internal movement we have a position for a Health, Safety and Environment Business Partner. The position also includes regional Health & Safety responsibility for the central region.
The successful applicant will be required to implement and coordinate Occupational Safety & Health strategy, policies and procedures and ensure that central region branches comply with Health & Safety standards and legislation. The main purpose of the role will be promoting a proactive approach by all staff to the identification of unsafe activities and practises and promoting behavioural change to a safety first culture.
Other functions of this position include monitoring, inspecting, reporting and ensuring compliance. This is a ‘hands on” position where you will be out in the business engaging with staff and management so travel is required. You will also be involved in training and coaching site personnel as well as providing advice on Health and Safety matters.
To succeed in this position you will have strong administrative abilities to produce accurate safety reporting information and statistics, conduct incident investigations, carry out risk assessments, manage Health and Safety databases and implement policies and procedures.
To be considered for this position you will require:
- Experience as an HSE Manager or Advisor
- Proven experience developing and implementing environmental management plans
- Sound knowledge of current law and H&S legislation
- A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated knowledge in HSE
- Strong relationship building abilities and resilience
- Desire to drive a strong safety culture
- Ability to travel outside the region for environmental project work
