Employing over 1400 staff in 15 ports both here and in Australia, C3 Limited is a market leader in New Zealand’s port related product and cargo handling, adding value to our client’s businesses by providing solutions to their transport and logistics needs.
Reporting to the GM Health, Safety, Environment and Risk this new position is designed to help strengthen our Health and Safety team, sharing responsibility for our North Island branches with another Business Partner based in Tauranga. The successful applicant will be required to implement and coordinate Occupational Safety & Health strategy, policies and procedures and ensure that branches comply with Health & Safety standards and legislation.
A primary focus of this position will be monitoring, inspecting, reporting and ensuring compliance of all branches. This is a ‘hands on” position where you will be out in the business engaging with staff and management, promoting a proactive approach by all staff to the identification of unsafe activities and practises. You will also be involved in training and coaching site personnel as well as providing advice on Health and Safety matters.
To succeed in this position you will have strong administrative abilities in order to produce accurate safety reporting information and statistics, conduct incident investigations, carry out risk assessments, manage Health and Safety databases and implement policies and procedures.
To be considered for this position you will require:
- Experience as a H&S Manager or Advisor
- Sound knowledge of current law and H&S legislation
- A relevant tertiary qualification and demonstrated knowledge in Health & Safety
- Strong relationship building abilities and resilience
- Desire to drive a strong safety culture
- Ability to travel regionally to implement the required policies & procedures
- Experience with Internal Auditing would be advantageous
