Forestry Machine Operator

Our Napier branch is looking to hire reliable and experienced Plant Operators for permanent work. The role involves operating Wagner’s, high stackers and pivot steer heavy machinery to load/unload logging trucks and stack logs ready for loading onto log vessels in a port environment. 

Flexibility with working hours is required as there are a range of shifts required to cover this operation, which includes working nights when vessels are loading.

Experience in a port environment and forestry experience would be advantageous, as well as an ability to operate log loading machinery, however training can be provided for the right candidate. 

Essential requirements for the position are:

 Experience in operating pivot steer log loaders & high stackers

Experience operating a reach stacker would be advantageous but not essential

 A minimum Class 2 licence

 A strong focus on Health and Safety 

 An ability to work to deadlines

 Flexibility and reliability

 A positive approach towards teamwork
