Foreperson

C3 are looking for experienced people leaders with proven supervisory experience who enjoy responsibility in a "hands on" port environment. The Foreperson is tasked with leading and developing a team of Stevedores to safely and efficiently load and unload a variety of cargo from vessels in a continuous improvement environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for people management and a drive to safely and efficiently meet desired targets.

As the Foreperson you will motivate the team to ensure the business consistently delivers quality service to customers whilst maximizing profitability and productivity. You will embrace a safe operating environment as a core value by ensuring staff follow correct operating procedures.  For this position we are seeking someone with motivation and enthusiasm, who enjoys solving problems, is quick thinking and forward thinking. As this is a physically demanding 24/7 environment you must have the stamina and flexibility to work a range of shift patterns.

The successful candidate will require;

 Effective communication skills with both internal & external customers

 Strong performance management and coaching skills

 Proven supervisory skills with an ability to get the best out of people

 Strong computer skills

 Planning skills to determine manpower & equipment to meet requirements and  minimize labour costs

 Flexibility to work out of port in other C3 locations

 A minimum of 3+ years as a people leader or similar supervisory role

 Previous experience in port services or stevedoring operations is not essential as long as you have a desire to learn our industry & advanced people management skills
