Join our our Wellington team as a Log Measurer / Checkpoint Processor, a key role in the timber export supply chain. No experience? No problem - we offer comprehensive training.

The Checkpoint is a facility where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed ready for export. The Log Measurer “scales” or measures each log to an international standard using scanning equipment, then barcodes the log and records it in our system so that every single log can be tracked wherever it is.

The Checkpoint is a team environment where the safety of our staff is paramount. Shifts can be up to 12 hours in length, and we offer varied shifts Monday to Friday (4am -7pm), with weekend work on a roster. Flexibility is key to supporting our 24/7 operaitons.

About you

You will be the kind of person who likes to be accurate when taking measurements, with good attention to detail. Previous administration and data entry experience will be beneficial. You will also enjoy communicating with truck drivers and members of your team. This is an active outdoor role that requires you to meet deadlines and also be ok on your feet for most of your shift.  You will also be confident operating scanning equipment and preferably hold a full class 1 licence.
