Checkpoint Processor / Log Measurer
The Checkpoint is a facility located in central Dunedin where logging trucks come to have their logs measured and ticketed ready for export. The Checkpoint Processor manually attaches barcodes to every log then “scales” or measures each log using an international standard and finally scans the logs into our system so that every single log can be tracked wherever it is. You don’t need previous experience in this type of role as training is provided.
The Checkpoint is a team environment where the safety of our staff is paramount. Shifts can be up to 12 hours in length between the hours of 0500am and 5.00pm, Monday to Friday with some occasional weekend work. You will need to be flexible with working hours as shift times can vary.
About you
You will be the kind of person who likes to be accurate when taking measurements, with good attention to detail. You will also enjoy communicating with truck drivers and members of your team. This is an active outdoor role that requires you to meet deadlines and be ok on your feet for most of your shift. You will also be confident operating scanning equipment and preferably hold a full class 1 licence.
